Kay Hixson
Director of Marketing and Communication

Kay Hixson is a seasoned marketing communications professional with a passion for progressive social change. She joined Grameen Foundation in 2004, bringing more than two decades of extensive experience in the nonprofit, civil society and public policy sectors, both domestically and internationally. Her experience includes serving as both a chief of staff and a legislative director for Members of Congress; launching and managing the marketing department for a $120 million public enterprise; and consulting public policy makers and social change agents on pressing domestic and international issues.

She holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. She has traveled extensively in Africa and maintains a strong personal and professional focus on combating some of the challenges faced by the continent.

Rebecca Booker
Online Marketing Officer

Rebecca joined Grameen Foundation in November 2007 as the online marketing officer. Prior to her work at GF, she served as the online communication specialist for the U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation, where she oversaw the redesign and deployment of the organization’s external and internal websites, as well as the creation and launch of websites to support the organization’s branch offices in Russia and Ukraine. She managed the organization’s online presence including outreach to the organization’s constituents, and support for special events and initiatives. Rebecca has more than five years experience in Web content and design and has previously worked at the American Association for the Advancement of Science where she responsible for all online content for a division of the Science and Public Policy Program and managed the deployment of the AAAS site redesign for the Science and Public Policy Program. Rebecca holds a BS in Journalism from Ohio University and a certificate in International Business Communication from the Ohio University Global Leadership Center.

Taylor Robinson
Marketing Assistant

Taylor joined Grameen Foundation in 2008 bringing experience in non-profit grants management and administration, as well as corporate communications, media relations and event planning. A graduate of American University in Washington, D.C., Taylor holds a B.A. in Political Science and is conversant in French. She became interested in international development while living abroad in Cape Town, South Africa.

Maya Uppaluru
Communication Associate

Before joining the Grameen Foundation in 2007, Maya Uppaluru worked as a Marketing Assistant for the service-learning nonprofit Team Kids in Irvine, California. Maya oversees production of all print communications, including our Annual Report and biannual Newsletters, and serves as the lead graphic designer for the Marketing team. She graduated with a double major in English and Political Science from University of California at Irvine, where she served on the Panhellenic Association board, and also organized the annual Greek Songfest philanthropic event, overseeing event production, fundraising, marketing and communications.

Liselle Yorke
Senior Marketing Officer

Liselle Yorke joined Grameen Foundation in May 2005, bringing over seven years of communications, media relations and event planning experience. Previously, she worked at the Washington-based Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, and the Tobago House of Assembly’s Public Information Unit in her native Trinidad and Tobago. An internationalist by nature and inclination, she is active in the Washington Caribbean community and has provided pro bono services to local organizations and coordinated tours by several cultural groups from Trinidad and Tobago. She holds a master degree in communications from Howard University and an undergraduate degree in history from the University of the West Indies.
