Camilla Nestor
Director, Capital Management and Advisory Center (CMAC)

Camilla Nestor joined Grameen Foundation in August 2005. She has twelve years of experience in microfinance and commercial banking. Before joining Grameen, she was an associate in Citigroup’s Structured Corporate Finance Department where she originated and executed credit-enhanced debt financings for emerging markets firms in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining Citi, she spent five years on the ground in Southeast Asia, the Balkans, and Africa working with microfinance institutions on start-up, growth management, new product development, and capital raising. Camilla holds an MBA and a masters degree in International Affairs from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Colorado College. She speaks Bahasa Indonesia and is conversant in French.

Zaved Ahmed
Associate

Zaved Ahmed joined Grameen Foundation in April 2008. In the summer of 2007, he worked in the Corporate Strategy and Integrated Risk Management (CSRSI) unit of the World Bank Group in Washington DC, and he brings over seven years of experience in corporate and investment banking. Prior to joining Grameen Foundation, Zaved was a relationship manager with Citigroup, in Bangladesh, for the first Micro-Credit Securitization in the world—a US$ 180 million transaction with BRAC, a pioneer in Micro-Credit and one of the largest NGOs in the world. Zaved has experience in advising clients on obtaining foreign currency funding from OPIC, IFC, AKFED and other multi-lateral organizations. He received his BA in Business Administration from University of Dhaka and is currently attending his final semester at Georgetown University, The McDonough School of Business. Zaved speaks Bengali and Hindi.

Jill Chen 
Senior Program Advisor

Jill Chen joined Grameen Foundation in January 2007 and brings over 15 years of experience in finance and commercial banking. Previously, she was Director/Group Vice President in ABN Amro’s Cross Border Structured Finance and Project Finance in Chicago and Hong Kong, where she originated and structured financings for emerging markets projects in transportation, oil & gas, telecom, tourism and power. Jill also worked as Investment Officer with the International Finance Corporation’s Asia Department in Washington, DC and Beijing. Before IFC, she was Manager with Pepsico World Trade in countertrade/barter and Senior Consultant with Deloitte & Touche in mergers and acquisitions. Jill speaks Mandarin Chinese and holds a MBA in finance from the Wharton School and a BA in Political Science and Comparative Area Studies from Duke University.

Mike Gabriel
Program Officer

Mike Gabriel joined Grameen Foundation in May 2006. He brings six years of experience in investment banking and social enterprise development. Previously he was an Enterprise Development Manager with Unlad Kabayan Migrant Services Foundation, Inc. in Manila and Chicago where he helped Philippine migrant workers return home through savings, investment and entrepreneurship programs. He spent a summer working with Ashoka developing a due diligence process to evaluate social entrepreneurs who are working to create a more efficient and effective social capital market. Prior to that, he spent three years as an analyst with Banc of America Securities’ short-term finance group helping to execute commercial paper programs for large multi-nationals. Mike speaks Spanish and Tagalog. He received his MBA from Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management and his BA in Latin American Studies from Vanderbilt University.

Fabrizio Rotati
Portfolio Analyst

Fabrizio Rotati joined GF in April 2008.  He brings three years of investment banking and capital markets experience from Credit Suisse. Fabrizio worked as an analyst for the Leveraged Finance Department within the Financial Sponsors Group and High Yield Capital Markets Group working with private equity clients in analyzing and executing LBO transactions, refinancings, dividend recapitalizations and other exit opportunities for portfolio companies.  Within the High Yield Capital Markets Group, Fabrizio participated in structuring, pricing and syndication of high yield bonds.  He later spent time with the Latin America Debt Capital Markets Group arranging high yield bonds, securitized products and other debt related issues for Latin American corporates, supernationals and government institutions.  Fabrizio received his BA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Miami in Florida and is fluent in French and Spanish.

Shannjit Singh
Growth Guarantees Financial Analyst

Shannjit joined Grameen Foundation in October 2005. He originally joined Grameen Foundation as a Capital Markets Group Intern and he brings four years experience in investment banking and private equity. Before joining Grameen, Shannjit spent eight months traveling in northern and southern India. Prior to his travels, he worked as a consultant with the investment team at Accel-KKR, a private equity investment firm investing in technology companies. At Accel-KKR, he conducted valuations, developed operational financial models, and lead industry research efforts. Before Accel-KKR, he worked as a Financial Analyst at JPMorgan in their Technology, Media and Telecom investment banking group in San Francisco. At JPMorgan, he worked on transactions in corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, and private placements. Shannjit received his BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
