Robert Eichfeld, Chair
During a 33-year career with Citigroup, Mr. Eichfeld managed many of Citibank's country and regional activities in postings throughout the Caribbean, Brazil, India, Indonesia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. While abroad, he also served on the boards of several business and community affairs organizations including chairing various school boards. Since 2000, he has continued to use the unique business and cultural awareness skills that arise from having lived in or traveled to over 100 countries. He has advised a de-novo venture capital fund in Dubai, and with other investors, helped to set up a new Islamic bank in Bahrain. He advised Harvard Business School when it established its executive training program for the Middle East and he is currently a member of the Global Advisory Council at his alma mater, the Garvin School of International Management at Thunderbird. He also remains active in Rotary, particularly with Rotary’s international microfinance and other social development programs and is a member of the International Executive Services Corps and the Financial Services Volunteer Corps. . Bob’s other interests include international current affairs, tennis, hiking, rafting, extensive travel.
Stephen F. Rasmussen, Member
Mr. Stephen F. Rasmussen has served as Lead Specialist with the Finance and Private Sector Development Unit in the South Asia Region at the World Bank since 2004. In this capacity, he has supervised and contributed significantly to microfinance projects in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan and Afghanistan. In 2005, he led the World Bank’s regional microfinance project for the International Year of Microcredit that involved all eight SAARC countries. Mr. Rasmussen has also acted as Chief Executive/ Acting Chief Executive of the Pakistan Microfinance Network since 2001. Beginning in January 2007, Mr. Rasmussen will spend half of his time with the World Bank and the other half with CGAP, mostly working on microfinance issues in South Asia. Mr. Rasmussen has had extensive experience in microfinance and rural development; his past positions include General Manager (Chief Executive) of Aga Khan Rural Support Program, General Manager of Aga Khan Health Service in Pakistan, and Assistant Administrator of Aga Khan University Hospital. Mr. Rasmussen holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin in 1979, and a Master’s degree in Health Science from Johns Hopkins University in 1982.
Maliha H. Hussein, Member
Ms. Maliha Hamid Hussein works as an independent development consultant who has led diverse teams covering a wide range of development projects and sectors. Her experience includes policy and institutional analysis, strategic planning and review, socio-economic research, project design, appraisal and monitoring and evaluation. Ms. Hussein has extensive experience of working in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Jordan, Yemen, Egypt, Syria, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Albania, Azerbaijan, Mozambique and Sudan with a broad range of sectoral experience including agriculture, irrigation, forestry, water, microfinance, rural development, health and education. She has consulting experience with all the major multilateral and bilateral agencies including the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the United Nations Development Program, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the World Food Program, UNIFEM, DFID, USAID and several international organizations such as the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), the Aga Khan Foundation, the Global Water Partnership, etc. Ms Hussein was a career diplomat with the Pakistan Foreign Service (1978-82) and worked with the Aga Khan Rural Support Program from 1983-87. Ms Hussein co-owned and co-managed a consulting firm (1989-2000) and has been working independently since 2001. A graduate of Punjab University, Ms. Hussein obtained her Master of Science degree in agricultural economics from Michigan State University and a certificate in international law, economics and politics from Oxford University.
Atif Raza, Member
As a UK qualified Chartered Accountant, Atif Raza has over twenty years of experience in public accounting and senior leadership positions in international financial institutions in the Middle East and UK. Since 2004, Mr. Raza has served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Management at Unicorn Investment Bank in Bahrain, the first Islamic Investment Bank licensed in Europe. He is one of the three members of a founding Senior Management team that has set up a new Islamic Investment Bank in the Middle East. In that capacity, he led the process of building diverse business lines, establishing overall support infrastructure, and developing operational business plans and budgets. Mr. Raza’s previous experience also includes CFO of Citigroup franchises in the Middle East and the UK, where he functioned as principal business partner to the Chief Executive in the development and implementation of strategic business plans.
Faisal H. Khan, Member
Mr. Faisal H. Khan has served as Business Analyst for Bearingpoint since September 1999, responsible for the financial management, financial analysis and project management/organizational development of the IT department. Prior to joining Bearingpoint, he had extensive experience in project management and strategic analysis in both the US and Pakistan. His various positions include Program Advisor for Grameen Foundation in 2004, Program Manager for APNA Model School, and Associate at USA International Inc. from 1996 to 1998. Mr. Khan obtained his BA in International Relations and Spanish from West Virginia University in 1993 and his MBA degree in Finance from George Washington University in 1996. He also holds a certificate of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from Association of Investment Management and Research in New York in 2001.
James L. Greenberg, Member
Jim Greenberg currently serves on Grameen Foundation's India Advisory Council and is slated to be Grameen Foundation's nominee for Director of Grameen Capital India. Not only has Grameen Foundation benefited from his valuable knowledge, seasoned insight and strategic direction, but he and his wife helped to launch the India Initiative.
Mr. Greenberg has a rich executive and management background in international business. In 1995 he became the founding partner of DevCorp International E.C., a company based venture development and investment company with active projects spanning shrimp farming, petrochemicals, light manufacturing, and telecomm/IT. Mr. Greenberg is currently Chairman and CEO of the company.
