Founded in 1976 by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Grameen Bank has loaned more than $4 billion to 3.1 million of the poorest families in Bangladesh, giving them the opportunity to work towards lives free from poverty. Inspired by this success, GFUSA works to create the same opportunity for poor women around the globe.
